Wednesday 1 April – Friday 3 April

I have no recollection of these days.

Saturday 4 April – Reversing Accident

Midday

I was woken at midday by an SMS, and sometime after by Kieran calling to say he’d bought a car. I drove to Indooroopilly, had a coffee, went up to Kieran’s, and chatted for a while.

6pm

Drove down to Bronwen’s, picked her up, and dropped her off at her parent’s. On the way back, I stopped at the IGA to buy an apple juice. Unfortunately, while reversing backwards to get into a car park, I hit another car that had come up behind me. There did not appear to be any damage to the other car, other than their number plate being bent, and some superficial marks on their bumper, which appeared to wipe off with my fingers. My bumper was pushed in on the corner. The driver of the other vehicle wasn’t very impressed, stating that the front bumper was a “new panel”. She asked me to sign something admitting fault, which I refused to do. I’m not admitting fault to something that’s as yet unspecified—especially not after she said “it smells like you’ve been drinking”—which, considering neither Bronwen or I had been drinking, or come in contact with any alcohol, or could feasibly smell like we’d been drinking in any way, made me doubtful of her sincerity. While I couldn’t see any damage that would warrant an insurance claim, I’m worried that an assessor may be convinced otherwise.

9:47pm

Someone just let off fireworks outside my place—not even across the road in the park, but in the traffic triangle just outside my place.

1:15am

May die. Ate so many beans and so much garlic bread. Drove to the IGA. Didn’t hit anyone in the car park. Bought spaghetti, baked beans, two bottles of iced coffee, and a large stick of garlic bread, and drove to Maz’s.

3:40am

Going to bed. Horribly late, yet again. Have been at Maz’s, then finally getting around to entering product keys into Exchange and its servers.

Sunday 5 April – Pot Plants

Morning

I picked up Bronwen and drove her out to her place, to drop off some pot plants.

Monday 6 April – Curry

Night

Maz, Bronwen and I had curry from Halim’s, and it was nice.

Tuesday 7 April – Kieran’s Car

Night

Maz and Kieran came and picked me up in Kieran’s new car and we went for a drive. I ended up with Thai Red Curry from a place near uni, then ended up back at Maz’s around midnight, though I can’t remember why.

Wednesday 8 April – Cheesecake

Day

Work was busy.

Night

Just before Woolworths closed, I decided I urgently needed cheesecake, rushed there, and ended up playing Open Transport Tycoon for hours at Maz’s.

2:50am

It’s somehow got late. Must sleep.

Thursday 9 April – Very Late

10am

I woke when work called to find out why I wasn’t at work. By the time I got there, I was two hours late. Not good. Not sure if it’s because I stayed up late and didn’t hear my alarm, or because my alarm is faulty. Either way, I think I had better get another alarm clock—have been having lots of problems ever since using energyROM based ROM’s on my phone.

Night

I’m having a quiet night at home, finishing off some left-over Thai red curry and my cheesecake.

Midnight

I bought a can of Dr Pepper and a can of Cherry Coke and took them over to Maz’s.

Friday 10 April – Stradbroke Island

Morning

Off to Stradbroke.

Day

I had a relaxing day at Stradbroke, walking along the beach, avoiding the rain,

Saturday 11 April – Stradbroke Island

Day

I had a relaxing day out at Stradbroke Island with Bronwen and her parents.

Evening

I caught the bus back to the ferry, then the cat back to the mainland, through a bit of rain.

Night

I drove up to Kieran’s, where Maz also was. I also bought 12 fluid ounces of root beer, as part of my drinking various foreign drinks thing, which is awful.

Sunday 12 April – Pittsworth

7:15am

I got up, got ready, and Maz arrived shortly later. We drove to Maz’s Aunt’s place, picked her up, and drove out to Pittsworth, where we ate lots.

Night

I arrived back in Brisbane, after a full day out at Pittsworth, spent mostly eating, and ate two minute noodles while watching the last of Scrubs, before getting a surprisingly early night—before eleven o’clock.

Monday 13 April – Toothache

Evening

Maz and I drove to Cleveland and picked up Bronwen, on her way back from Stradbroke, and drove back to Maz’s where we chatted for a while.

Night

Bronwen and I had Halim’s mouth-pleasing curry, though the chilli naan is just a naan, containing chilli—hot. I dropped Bronwen off at her parent’s place after—they’re away and she’s keeping it all safe and happy.

I have a toothache.

Tuesday 14 April – Faulty Phone

I have a toothache.

Morning

I got up early, after only a few hours sleep, and drove to work.

Evening

Bronwen and I got cheap Tuesday pizza and ate it down by the river.

Night

My phone appears to be faulty. One of the button lights (the hang-up button) doesn’t work, and the screen alignment is seemingly-randomly misaligning. I am not happy.

Wednesday 15 April – Pide

Day

Work early. My phone is still very faulty, after flashing back to the default 3 ROM. Am going to drop it off to the 3 Care place tomorrow, meaning I’ll be late for work.

Night

Drove to Maz’s Aunt’s place to drop off some photos, then bought a pide from the kebab place at the Ville.

Thursday 16 April – 3 Care

9am

I dropped my phone off at the 3 Care place on Park Road. They told me it shouldn’t take more than an hour to fix. I then drove to work.

Day

I worked, and called the 3 Care call centre, who told me that they were waiting on parts for my phone.

Night

I had a quiet night sitting at home, doing nothing.

Friday 17 April – Stormy Times

Morning

I went back to 3 Care to get my phone, and sadly, screwed up. There was a big queue of people behind me. The computers were down. Everything was delayed. The man went out the back to find out what was happening with my phone. He came back to tell me it needed parts which they hoped to get next week. The people were not impressed with me holding them up. I asked the man to go get my phone so I could take it home, and bring it back when they had the part for it. He went out the back again. The people were even less impressed. Some minutes passed. The people were extremely unimpressed. The man came back. He said they couldn’t get my phone to pass the touch screen calibration stage, rendering it useless. I was already aware of this, and had managed to get it to pass through sheer endurance, but instead of getting him to go out the back again and having the angry mob stone me, I accepted their awful loaner phone instead. I feel so weak and am angry at myself. I shall continue using a blackberry from work, but it is featureless and awful compared to my phone.

Night

Bronwen came over. There was a storm. I did some washing. We drove to Paddington Woolworths. We bought things. Bronwen made pasta. I am so full.

Saturday 18 April – Christmas in April

Morning

Drove to Bronwen’s, then to Bronwen’s parent’s, then to the Novotel Twin Waters Resort for work’s Christmas weekend.

Afternoon

Bronwen and I drove around Twin Waters, went for a walk along a few beaches, and ended up at the work dinner.

Sunday 19 April – Fast and Furious

Morning

Bronwen and I checked out from our room late, had a big breakfast, walked along some beaches, and drove back to Brisbane a very roundabout way, getting back late in the afternoon.

Night

Bronwen and I saw Fast and Furious at South Bank. It was sold out—and noticeably more women than men it seemed. The movie itself was surprisingly better than I was expecting—we both enjoyed it. I drove to Bronwen’s after for her to get some clothes, then back to my place.

Monday 20 April – Unsmooth

Afternoon

I left work early to get my phone back from 3 Care. It seems to be fixed—the entire screen and front assembly and slider part have been replaced, but it feels and sounds like it has been put back together incorrectly, there’s something catching when it used to be a smooth sliding movement, but it’s too much hassle to take it back to be checked when I work all the time.

Night

Maz dropped past, and we drove back to his place.

Tuesday 21 April – Pizza

Morning

Up early to get to work early, after leaving early yesterday.

Night

Drove around to Maz’s, spent some time there, dropped past the Ville, then back home to get Bronwen, then off to get pizza, then back home to eat pizza.

Wednesday 22 April – Iced Coffee

Morning

I dropped Bronwen to work. It took slightly longer to get to her work in the city than it normally does to get to my work out at the airport.

Evening

I picked up Bronwen from work, drove to my place, found that the screen protector and crystal case I’d ordered for my phone the night before last had arrived, put them on, drove up to Bronwen’s parent’s place, had a lovely pesto dinner, drove Bronwen out to her place, and drove up to Maz’s via the IGA for iced coffee.

Thursday 23 April – Tagging Music

Night

Bronwen dropped past to pick up her bike. I drove to Maz’s, then on to Kieran’s, then to Indooroopilly where I had Subway for dinner, then back to Kieran’s, then back here, and I’ve now been up tagging music—I’m using Winamp’s Gracenote-based Auto-Tag feature to get the ID3 tags, then mp3tagstudio to use those tags to rename and organise the files, then “Album Art Downloader” to download album art, then mp3tag to remove any existing album art and add the new album art. Not ideal, but it works and I’ve spent a fair bit of time doing this.

Friday 24 April – TocH

Day

I worked.

Night

I ordered My Thai, then went outside—to find a huge, multicoloured light, shining everywhere. As far as I could tell, it must have been an extremely large disco-style light on top of Stefan’s Phallic Symbol, I suppose it’s been rebuilt after its fire. Then, having driven out to Coronation Drive to see this, I found I couldn’t easily get back, most of the exit roads being shut for roadwork or the game on at Lang Park, and when I did finally get back to Milton Road, most of the roads turning off that were also shut. Then, lest normalcy return, I got stuck in a large group of bikies—riding mini bikes—before having the police stop a large semi-trailer, all but blocking off the road. How bizarre. I did eventually arrive at Maz’s, and from there drove to Kieran’s, where I stayed until I drove to Raymond’s and into the city to watch the TocH ceremony at midnight at the ANZAC flame. I met my flatmates there, and gave them a lift home before driving back to Kieran’s, where I stayed until late and very tired.

Saturday 25 April – ANZAC Day

Midday

I woke up. I walked to a nearby bakery, where I met Maz and Kieran. I bought an apple turnover and an iced coffee. Maz and Kieran dropped me home. I put on some washing. I washed my car. I hung out my washing. I deleted lots of email.

Afternoon

An urgent requirement for a thirst quenching drink has arisen. Off to the IGA I go, then up to Kieran’s, to provide him with a grape soda.

Night

Hungry Jack’s veggie burger for dinner, and am still up at Kieran’s. It’s good having a nice laptop.

Sunday 26 April – Sleeping

Morning

I had a relaxing morning, sleeping.

Afternoon

I drove up to Kieran’s, going shopping at Indooroopilly, and spending the evening at Kieran’s.

Night

I picked Bronwen up from her parent’s, and curry from Halim’s, and drove back to Kieran’s.

Monday 27 April – Unalarming

Morning

My phone was frozen in the morning, and did not alarm.

Night

I picked Maz up from the train station and drove to Chez Tessa, via his place, for dinner. I ended up staying at his place late, and Kieran dropped over.

Tuesday 28 April – On Time

Day

I managed to get to work on time, despite the late night.

Wednesday 29 April – X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Day

Work, work, work.

Night

Bronwen, Maz and I went and saw “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, which isn’t too bad, as far as unbelievable action movies go. I then drove Bronwen out to her place to get clothes, then back to my place.

Thursday 30 April – Work

Day

I worked.
