Friday 1 May
Bronwen, her Dad, and I had dinner at Castelli’s.
Saturday 2 May
Bronwen and I went to the bakery for breakfast, before dropping Bronwen back to her place to murder weeds.
Maz and I went to the bakery for lunch, before Maz drove out west for a family gathering.
I sorted lots of music. Not exactly exciting I suppose, but somehow fulfilling—seeing the order emerge from chaos.
I drove out to Bronwen’s, saw her large pile of murdered weeds, and we drove back to my place, getting Halim’s curry for dinner.
Sunday 3 May
A quiet breakfast was had, while Bronwen watched Buffy. For some reason, Bronwen, the feminine half of my flatmates, and Maz’s flatmate are all into watching Buffy at the moment. It’s a shame it’s such an awful show.
Bronwen and I drove up to her parent’s place, where we met her Mum, having just got back from a drive through New South Wales, and then on to South Bank, where we watched Buddha’s Birthday Festival’s fireworks.
Monday 4 May
After breakfast, I drove Bronwen back to her place via her Mum’s.
I drove up to Maz’s, then shortly later, up to Kieran’s, where I began—slowly—to design my new journal format. As usual, it’s ended up a lot more difficult than it originally sounded.
A kebab from The Ville for dinner, then back to Kieran’s, with Maz, for more website design.
Off to bed. Have stayed up late sorting music, writing a script to magically find album art and put it on my phone, and getting cold toes.
Tuesday 5 May
Bronwen and I ordered pizza, and took it around to Maz’s, where we found Kieran.
Wednesday 6 May
Off to work, to work, I go.
I nearly had a serious accident on the drive back from work. Traffic was flowing around 80 to 90 kilometres an hour, and I was in the right lane. I merged into the centre lane, behind a big truck, and from there, into the “must exit” left lane, which was empty, as usual. Unfortunately, halfway through merging into the lane, and as soon as I could see around the truck, I found there were stationary cars in it, about five metres from me. Fortunately, I managed to de-merge in a heart-pounding hurry, without dying. The drive home then took forty minutes, as I wasn’t game to overtake anything.
I drove to Bronwen’s, where I had a nice Bronwen-cooked curry for dinner and watched Buffy, before driving to Maz’s, via my place to take a hard drive with some media on it for him.
Off to bed, worryingly late.
Thursday 7 May
Maz, Bronwen and I drove to A-Mart, then on to IKEA, where I suffered IKEA-poisoning and mental degradation due to excess shopping options.
Bronwen cooked me pasta.
Friday 8 May
Planning to spend time with Bronwen, take wine to a park or something, then go see Star Trek.
Saturday 9 May
I had a doctor’s appointment, which I missed by sleeping in. I did hear the alarm, but managed to go back to sleep, waking up about the same time as my appointment.
Dropped my flatmates and their two kiwi friends at an Indian place, then bought some vodka for Maz’s flatmate, dropped that at Maz’s, and rushed to the Thai place downstairs at the Ville with Bronwen, heading back to Maz’s again after.
Sunday 10 May
Drove down to Bronwen’s to see a doctor, but went via the city, making me late. Fortunately, as per most doctors, the doctor was running later. Unfortunately, the pathology place was shut, so I’ll have to work out a way to get to one during work.
Bought some glasses and a sweet baked good from Indooroopilly with Maz, before dozing sleepily.
Monday 11 May
The drive home wasn’t too bad, for a pleasant change, taking just over twenty minutes. I drove to Maz’s, we went to the Ville for dinner, where I bought a kebab. I ended up staying up late, it’s 2 AM and rather cold.
I should be in bed, but instead I’m running yum update on CentOS 5.2 running on Hyper-V. So far, so good. Seems like overkill just to run a testing server for website development, but I am liking Hyper-V for this kind of thing—snapshots are a great feature, if this breaks it, I’ll rollback the most recent snapshot. Ironically, for all those Linux-good/Windows-bloated-and-bad types out there, my CentOS install is significantly larger than my Windows 2008 Server with Exchange 2007 install, and the 900 MB of updates it’s currently downloading exceeds what Windows has needed as well. Linux virtualised on Windows amuses me.
Tuesday 12 May
A relatively normal day was had.
Bronwen turned up, and we watched some Buffy.
Wednesday 13 May
Bronwen, Maz and I had curry from Halim’s, then I drove to Bronwen’s parent’s place, then back to my place, where I left Bronwen, then on to Maz’s place, where I still am, along with my slurpee. It’s quite cold.
Thursday 14 May
Work was quite busy today.
It just took an hour and five minutes to get home, due to two strategically placed accidents. Fortunately I was in a relaxed, daydreaming sort of mood, though driving with one eye closed is harder than it sounds. Still, I didn’t fall asleep, so it wasn’t too bad.
Went to Chez Tessa with Maz, then watched Stargate with Maz and his flatmate.
Friday 15 May
I’m in a bit of a funk. I watched the end of Scrubs Season 8, and while it’s only a silly TV show, it’s made me feel sad, what with the passing of my parent’s, my perpetual uncertainty about my future, and so on. I’m going to see if I can actually get a bit of a redesign of my journal happening—I’ve got the ideas, just need to get around to actually doing it...
Ended up taking two litres of iced coffee around to Maz’s, meeting Loki there, and then rushing back to my place when Bronwen turned up and having a relatively early (that is, before midnight) night.
Saturday 16 May
I went to Maz’s, where I met Maz and Kieran, and ended up at Kieran’s, after a trip to the bakery.
I drove out to Bronwen’s, and we saw Angels and Demons at South Bank.
Sunday 17 May
Maz, Bronwen and I went to the bakery for breakfast, then to Officeworks to look at the Adamo by Dell laptop, and a Western Digital media player box.
Bronwen and I watched Stargate SG-1, and had curry for dinner.
Monday 18 May
Off to work. My boss isn’t here this week, so I’m trying to keep everything working.
Maz and I drove to Chez Tessa for dinner. It is raining.
I drove home from Maz’s, hung out my washing, and went to bed.
Tuesday 19 May
My clothes were still wet from not hanging them out at a sane time last night, and it was raining reasonably heavily. Sort of the opposite to cosy and warm.
Today is going less than ideally. I was late to work this morning, and having forgotten my wallet, I don’t have access to the server room, so I’m pretending I don’t need to go in there, and I’ve stopped soldering, because I didn’t bring any breakfast, and I can’t drive to get any, because I don’t have enough fuel, and I don’t have a wallet to buy any, or buy any fuel, and the flux from the solder was making me feel sick on an empty stomach. Fortunately, I have found garlic bread I had left over in the freezer, and $10 in coins in the car, which should be enough to get me home alive tonight.
Wednesday 20 May
Thursday 21 May
Friday 22 May
Bronwen, Kieran, Maz, Kate and I dropped past Officeworks, where Kate bought a Western Digital media player, and continued on to Halim’s, where we had curry for dinner.
Saturday 23 May
I drove Bronwen back to her place, and then drove to Maz’s, where Maz, Kate and I drove to Indooroopilly, meeting Kieran there, and spending the afternoon with Kieran. Maz and I bought ceramic heaters, and I bought a beanbag and two hundred litres of beans.
I drove out to Ormiston College, where Bronwen was partaking in the Relay for Life fundraiser. It was quite busy.
Sunday 24 May
Monday 25 May
Tuesday 26 May
Wednesday 27 May
I somehow stayed up until 4:30 AM sorting music and messing around online.
Thursday 28 May
Maz and I went to Umart, where Maz bought a speaker system. Bronwen then arrived at my place, Maz drove to Kieran’s, Bronwen and I drove to My Thai, picked up curry, and drove to Maz’s, meeting Maz there, and starting dinner. Bronwen and I then drove to Bronwen’s parent’s place, back past the IGA for iced coffee, and back to Maz’s, where we watched The Matrix to test his new speakers.
Friday 29 May
I worked. Quite busy it was.
I picked Maz up from his work around ten o’clock, and spent some time at his place.
Saturday 30 May
I woke up at midday, and drove to a bakery for an apple turnover and iced coffee.
I spent the evening sorting music and messing around on my computer, doing very little and feeling guilty for not enjoying the lovely day outside. I tried doing some work on my website, but it’s mostly broken... it looks like my webhost may have changed from apache to litespeed, causing a few odd problems. I also found a $50 Coles Myer gift card that expires tomorrow.
I’ve stayed up late again. I went and had Hungry Jack’s at Kieran’s, then drove back to Maz’s, and now I’ve somehow managed to spend the past few hours sorting music... again.
Oh dear! Off to bed now.
Sunday 31 May
I woke up, having slept the morning away.
I drove down to Bronwen’s, and then back to Halim’s for curry, then Cold Rock with Maz, before sleeping.
