Friday 1st October – A Lamington
I have a lamington.
I caught a bus into the city and went to the Public Service Club with Bronwen, then to Govinda’s afterwards for dinner.
Saturday 2nd October – Paintball
I got up and drove out past Samford to paintball, or more specifically, followed TomTom far too far, then turned around, and got to paintball nearly late.
I shot people, and was shot. Paintball, it turns out, isn’t as bad as I’d feared. I don’t think I’d bother going again… but still, I survived.
After paintball, Bronwen, her friends, and I, drove to Samford for lunch. I then drove home, and broke my laptop. The Bluetooth had stopped working, and I’d uninstalled and reinstalled it several times without fixing the problem, and the last attempt at installing some drivers and software for it took a hugely long time. I eventually got sick of waiting for it, only to find that it had deleted the vast majority of the files from my laptop. I now have 100 GB of free space where my 90 GB of data used to be.
Sunday 3rd October – Hayfever
I am sick. I spend the day relaxing, trying to fix my laptop, going to Maz’s and reinstalling Windows on it, and getting slowly sicker. It would appear I have killer hayfever.
I had a hot laksa, which I took up to Bronwen’s parents’ place and ate there with her. I am too sick to eat out.
Monday 4th October – Tickets
I still do not feel well, so called in sick.
I caught a bus into the city and had lunch with Bronwen at Govindas, and picked up Kara’s and our tickets from Ticketek.
I spent the afternoon relaxing and installing things on my laptop.
Raymond dropped past to test his newly bought, but reporting as faulty, hard drive. I drove him home, picked up Bronwen, and Bronwen, Maz and I had Halim’s curry for dinner.
Tuesday 5th October – Bluetooth Blues
I sat at home, whinging bitterly about the Bluetooth having died in my laptop… again. Then Bronwen arrived and we went and got pizza, and I reinstalled the Bios and the Bluetooth is again working… albeit most likely temporarily. It’s frustrating and crap, though pizza was nice.
Wednesday 6th October – Traffic
Work. The usual.
I picked Bronwen up from her work, which involved a lot of getting stuck in traffic, and dropped her off at her parents’ place. They’re coming home soon.
Thursday 7th October – More Traffic
I drove to work. Traffic was bad. I was late. I worked.
I drove home, Bronwen arrived by bike shortly thereafter. We ordered My Thai, took aforementioned My Thai to Maz’s, ate it, and drove home again. It is quite hot.
Friday 8th October – Geeky
Lots of people were away sick.
I drove up to Kieran’s, via Bronwen’s parents’, then Hungry Jack’s. The veggie burger I got from Hungry Jack’s wasn’t like any other one… I’m guessing whoever made it had no idea what to do. Maz was at Kieran’s, and we spent the night doing geeky stuff.
Saturday 9th October – Halim’s Indian Taj
I slept in.
I wake up and walk through the drizzle to the bakery, where I meet Maz and eat a veggie pasty.
I drive to Maz’s and work on my website, along with walking to Woolies. Kieran and David turn up after a while, and we progress onto “Night”, below.
Kieran, David, Maz and I drive to, and subsequently eat at, Halim’s Indian Taj. The food is, as always, superb. After dinner we all drive up to Kieran’s, where we stay until late.
Sunday 10th October – The Angry Bronwen & The Rain
I had been supposed to go up to Bronwen’s parents place for breakfast—they’ve arrived back from their holiday yesterday—but unfortunately I had to respond to a work call, and by the time I had done that—and before I had a chance to call up and apologise for being late—I received an angry call from Bronwen, leaving me feeling tired and crap, so no breakfast for me.
Bronwen came over, and we walked to the bakery and a new pasta place and had breakfast/lunch, after which Bronwen drove out to her place, and I lazed about at home, feeling depressed.
I drove to Maz’s, who is building a shelf under his table to hold his gaming controllers, then we drove down to Bronwen’s and brought her back to my place, then back to Maz’s, where I did some work on my website. It is quite wet, raining solidly.
Monday 11th October – Flooding
It’s raining quite a lot, and has been all night. Things are flooding. There was a lot of water on the road on the way to work.
The rain has eased off, but it’s still quite wet. I had a quiet evening at home, eating some two-minute noodles and writing up a journal entry.
I meant to get an early night, but that appears not to have happened. Oh well, off to bed now.
Tuesday 12th October – Whale Hunting
I woke up, got ready for work, drove to work, worked, drove home, and while it’s not yet certain, I expect to go whale hunting before bed.
I did not go whale hunting. Apparently it’s illegal unless you’re Japanese. Instead, I ordered pizza—and made the mistake of ordering a “dessert thingie”. It looked so good in the photo… it looked so un-good in reality. I then took them around to Maz’s, and ate them there, staying up quite late.
Wednesday 13th October – Bronwen’s Place
As usual, I worked.
I picked up Bronwen from her parents’ place, and drove her to her place.
