Tuesday 15th June - Sick

Day

I called in sick, having been up most of the night either being sick, or trying to clean up the mess from being sick. I was very fragile all day, and only got out of bed once to walk slowly to the IGA and buy a soft drink.

Wednesday 16th June - The A-Team

Day

I went to work, feeling mostly better, though still a little fragile.

Evening

Bronwen and I watched “The A-Team” at Southbank… and it was fantastic! In no way a thinking man’s movie, but given its total lack of pretence at being anything else--a truly fantastic action film, with one of the all-time great scenes--they fly a tank!

Night

I drove over to Maz’s, and went for a short walk.

Thursday 17th June - Depressed

Day

I had my annual review today, which went well.

Night

I was depressed, and slept. I also accidentally made a three quarter hour mobile phone call. I then drove out to Bronwen’s place, before having a late dinner, and going to bed.

Friday 18th June - Pasta

Morning

Sabine’s boyfriend arrived.

Day

I worked.

Evening

I picked Bronwen up on the way home, drove out to her place, annoyed her while she did some packing, then drove back to my place, annoyed her some more, then went and had a nice--and very filling--pasta dinner from the new pasta place at the Ville. It was extremely busy, I think with students finishing their exams and celebrating.

Night

After dinner, Bronwen and I drove to her parent’s place to get things, then out to her place, then I drove to somewhere else to get Kara, then back to my place, and now I’m going to go to bed… eventually.

Saturday 19th June - The Airport

6:45am

I was up quite early to drive Kara to the airport. There was a huge queue of cars waiting to drop people off, backed back at least ten minutes, probably longer, from the drop-off area. So, knowing all the ins and outs of the place, I dropped Kara off in a cul-de-sac near the covered parking, which will be a one minute longer walk for her, and a fifteen minute saving in waiting in a queue while people try to drop people off at the drop-off place.

Afternoon

Sadly, I went to sleep, and didn’t wake up until the afternoon. I feel stupid now. I don’t like sleeping half the day away. On the other hand, now that I’m up, I feel unmotivated and am not doing anything, so it doesn’t make much difference I guess. I walked to the bakery, where I met Maz and ate a veggie pastie, and now I’m off to find light bulbs.

Night

I bought some light bulbs from Indooroopilly, and dropped in at Kieran’s, where Maz also was. Ended up staying up quite late.

Sunday 20th June - Sabine Departs

5:45am

I got up and drove Sabine and her boyfriend to the airport, which is sad, as she’s now left.

Morning

I went to bed.

Afternoon

I got up, walked to the bakery, bought a baked thing, and made the mistake of buying chips and a milkshake from the kebab place, which I then didn’t enjoy and ended up throwing most of away. I think there’s still something wrong with my eating.

After lunch, I drove to Indooroopilly, via Maz’s, getting Maz, bought starters for the fluorescent lights in the kitchen, spent some time at Kieran’s, dropped Maz off at South Bank, drove to Bronwen’s, dropped Bronwen off at her parent’s place, and drove home.

Night

At great risk to myself, I installed the starters and two new tubes into one of the fluorescent lights in the kitchen, and it still doesn’t work, so a pox upon them and their progeny, and I shall call an electrician tomorrow--who hopefully owns a ladder. I like 400-foot ceilings, but I don’t like milk-crate-ladders.

In other news, it’s very cold, and I can’t find my extra-fat socks.
