Sabine says Goodbye | Sun 18th to Sat 24th Jul 2010 — Ned Martin’s Dot Org

Sunday 18th July – Car Mirror

Morning

I slept in.

Afternoon

I replaced the broken mirror on my car, breaking the electronic mirror adjustor mechanism and a little bezel around the lock in the process—due mostly to poor instructions in the stupid car manual book. It wasn’t much fun.

Night

I had dinner at Chez Tessa with Maz, and stayed up quite late making a new contents page for my journal, and a calendar.

Monday 19th July – Sabine says Goodbye

Day

Quite tired at work, after staying up until 4 o’clock last night.

Night

Aww, sad. Sabine has just said goodbye. We had a lovely goodbye dinner at Three Monkeys, along with Bronwen and Sabine’s fiancé—they’re now engaged! She’s been a fantastic flatmate, and is a lovely person.

Tuesday 20th July – Pizza

Day

Work, to earn money.

Evening

Maz’s, to watch Top Gear.

Night

Back to my place, via Eagle Boys to get pizza. Bronwen is already at my place, and Kara turns up later.

Wednesday 21st July – A Lost Kitty

Day

As usual, I work.

Night

I show a girl my available rooms—she wants to move in, but I decide to keep looking—then drive down to Bronwen’s, however she is busy signing paperwork with her new flatmate, so I drive home again, then later back to Bronwen’s, then to Maz’s, then we go for a walk, find a lost kitty, buy ice cream from 7-11, and eventually, go to bed.

Thursday 22nd July – Helium Balloons

7:30am

I had to be at work an hour early today, for a conference call.

Night

Maz came over and we walked to Halim’s for curry, then cold rock, then drove to South Bank where we picked up Bronwen—along with quite a lot of colourful balloons, and drove back to my place where Bronwen gave us some resounding helium-fuelled renditions of “I’m a little teapot”.

Midnight

It’s closer to one o’clock than midnight, so I had better get myself to bed I thinks.

Friday 23rd July – Inception

Day

Working, of course.

Night

I stayed at work an hour later due to a last minute issue, then drove home, went to Halim’s with Bronwen, then rushed to Southbank to watch “Inception”, which turned out to be quite a complex, and interesting, movie.

After Midnight

I got a work call just as I came out of the cinema, which is good timing I suppose, and rushed home to investigate.

Saturday 24th July – Wreckers & Jana

Morning

After a lazy sleep-in, I drove to Maz’s, then with Maz, down to GDM Wreckers. My phone refused to get a GPS fix, so is presumably broken, but I did get a power mirror controller thing, and the little plastic bezel for the lock knob for free.

Afternoon

Maz and I drove to Chez Tessa, but then went to the bakery, for lunch. I cleaned off the paint from my mirror with some solvent from Maz’s, then put a bed together at my place and did a little cleaning, and went back to Maz’s, walked to Woolies, bought a drink, and did a little laptop-ing.

Night

I picked up Jana and her friend from Orleigh Park and showed them around my place, then ordered Thai food, collected Bronwen, and drove to Maz’s, to watch a movie and eat it, along with his flatmate, Katie.

We went to bed quite late.
