Saturday 20th November – Meanjin Reggae Festival
Coronavirus Lockdown Day 608
2,112 cases: 0 new, 7 active.
Bronwen and I drove into town, parking at Kangaroo Point Cliffs, and walked across to the botanic gardens to have a look at the “Freedom Rally” (a complex combination of anti-vaxxers, anti-5G people, and others concerned about government overreach relating to Covid restrictions)
Meanjin Reggae Festival
After the Freedom Rally Bronwen had to go to her parents’ place to watch a relative’s wedding that was to be live-streamed, so I walked across to Musgrave Park and caught the end of the Meanjin Reggae Festival.
Bronwen arrived just before the festival ended, and we drove to Kangaroo Point Cliffs to take some photos of Bronwen with her new climbing shoes.
After the impromptu photoshoot we drove to Bronwen’s parents’ place and had a delicious Bronwen Birthday Dinner at NAÏM, before heading back to Bronwen’s parents’ place where I gave Bronwen her not-birthday-present.
West End Fire Festival
Bronwen and I stopped off at the West End Fire Festival on our way home, managing to catch the last 20 minutes or so of it. It’s not been on for quite some time due to Covid, and the fire circle at Burleigh Bongos has been shut down by the Gold Coast City Council gestapo, so it’s nice to see that there’s still some community fire twirling alive.
