We set out to go for a walk up Mt Gravatt at night, but got side-tracked by two lots of neighbours searching through their gardens for a large python.
Thursday 1st October – Flippers
Coronavirus Lockdown Day 193
1,157 cases: 0 new, 4 active. Pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafés can now have double the number of patrons outdoors. Restrictions have also eased on theme parks, zoos and stadiums, while up to 1,000 people can attend outdoor events such as sports carnivals and school fêtes. The Queensland border zone has also expanded (Byron Bay is again included), and anyone in the border zone can now enter Queensland for any purpose. Border residents can apply for a border pass and travel around Queensland, and Queenslanders can travel to those places as well.
Bronwen and I drove to BCF to buy some new flippers to replace the ones I broke in the surf at Stradbroke Island. I then dropped Bronwen off at her parents’ place, where she’s spending the night so as to go into work tomorrow.
Friday 2nd October – Roma Street Transit Centre
Coronavirus Lockdown Day 194
1,160 cases: 2 new (both acquired overseas and detected in quarantine), 6 active.
Roma Street Transit Centre
After a quiet day at home I drove into Roma Street, meeting Bronwen there and having a quick look at what used to be the Transit Centre—now mostly knocked down.
Halim’s Indian Taj
We went to Halim’s for dinner, then on to Maz’s after.
